Personal Access Code (PAC) password changes for Online Banking

March 13, 2018 - Enhancements to online security are here

We've increased your banking security by increasing the type of characters you use to create your password. The requirements for your password have changed from all numbers, to an alphanumeric password with more options.

As soon as you log in to Online Banking—or use the ACU Anytime app—you'll be prompted to change your password to a stronger password that has these following minimum requirements:

  • at least 8 characters minimum, and up to 30 characters maximum
  • at least one uppercase letter
  • at least one lowercase letter
  • at least one number
  • no spaces
  • special characters are optional. These are the acceptable special charaters you can use: @ # $ - ! |
  • PLEASE NOTE: the last 10 passwords used cannot be selected when changing your password

If you use both online banking and ACU Anytime (our mobile app), please log in to ACU Anytime to change your password.

Additional Information for Business Online Members

If you are the signer for a small business account with delegates and/or consolidated accounts, there are some extra steps to take.

If you have delegates on accounts

Effective immediately after strong passwords have been implemented, the status of each delegate needs to be updated. Delegates are unable to log in until you change their status.

  1. In Online Banking, go to Business Services > Add/Modify Delegates.
  2. Select Edit next to the Delegate you need to update.
  3. Change the Delegate status from Inactive to Active.

Please note: Delegates can continue to use their existing numeric passwords.

If you have consolidated accounts

After your password is changed on all accounts, re-connect the accounts by updating the Personal Access Code link. You aren't able to see the accounts until they are re-linked.

  1. As a reminder, log in to each account and update your password to the strong password in each one.
  2. In Online Banking, go to Business Services > Manage Consolidated Accounts.
  3. Select the Update PAC link next to the Login ID you need to update.

  4. Enter the new Personal Access Code.

The connection will now be active.
